02/02/26 - 04/02/06

"Instead of working towards a single image, we begin to think in terms of the possibilities of a system. Designing a process rather than its final result forces one to remain very open, to accept working with unexpected results and sometimes, to adopt the final product despite a few surprises..."

Marcus Wendt. Field

Context

Students worked with a limited set of programs written in Processing as a means to experiment freely with their own images. Each program manipulates image pixels in a particular way. The main objectives of the workshop were to explore as well as organise images to constitute a common document of visual research.

In accompagnment to this visual research, students were encouraged to develop a set of protocols in which they could mix different programs as well as different techniques for image making. this website presents a selection of that initial research.
